The 2008 P. K. Page Founders’ Award for Poetry

The Malahat Review is pleased to announce that the winner of this year’s P. K. Page Founders’ Award for Poetry is Jeff Latosik of Toronto for his poem Cactus Love which appeared in the Winter 2007 issue. Jeff Latosik’s award-winning poem was chosen for this prestigious award by Gary Geddes.

Toronto: Pages Books & Magazine’s Website New Look

The good folks at Toronto’s greatest indie bookstore have a brand new look—online that is. Interviews? Books? Literary profiles? Events listings? Pages Books & Magazines was started in 1979 in an empty storefront on Toronto's Queen St. West.

Ben Walker Sings Stuart Ross

Toronto literary personality, poet, edit and racketeer Stuart Ross wears a lot of hats. Now somewhere between muse and collaborator, he finds his poetry the subject of musical interpretation via British musican Ben Walker. An Orphan's Song ($15) is a collection of 15 tracks (that’s a dollar per track) composed and recorded by Walker, built around Ross poetry. Songs include "Ladies & Gentlemen, Mr. Ron Padgett," "Invitation to Love," "Road Trip, Southern Ontario, 1999," and "We Got Punched." For more information on the disc, check out Stuart’s blog.
